With Smart's U.S. sales continuing to drop dramatically, Daimler AG is launching a pilot program in Austin, Texas, for short-term rental of the micro car. The program, called car2go, would allow registered users to pick up an available Smart, use it for as long as needed, and return it to designated locations in the city.
Chevy used last Friday's State Fair of Texas to introduce two buffed-up pickup trucks prepped for SEMA. The first, based on the Silverado Double Cab with the Z71 package, was for fighting fires; the other, a Crew Cab 4x4, is for top-secret Black Ops missions (??- ED.)
Chevy This pickup carries equipment, water and fire extinguishers. According to Chevy, the Silverado Z71 Volunteer Firefighter concept honors the service of “first responders” while showing off the pickup's work credentials.
